you can enjoy your floor for many years to come.
General cleaning:
– -Sweep with a soft bristle broom. If a vacuum is used make sure that the head is a soft bristle.
We recommend investing in a vacuum that is made for hardwood flooring because it will extract the
dirt and grit from the bevels. If a carpet vacuum is used the beater bar must be turned off.
– -To “damp clean” your hardwood flooring a product like BONA’s hardwood floor cleaning kit is
recommended. These are readily available at most hardware stores. A general rule for the amount of
solution to use is that if the floor is not dry to the touch in 3 to 5 minutes to much solution was used.
Another advantage to using a product like BONA is that it is engineered to not dull or etch the floors
finish. Over the years we have noticed that even plain water with its mineral content can dull the finish.
That being said solutions like water and vinegar, oil cleaners, wood soaps and the like are definitely not
recommended.
Maintaining your floor:
-The re-coat process is the best way to never have to sand your floor again. It is typically only a
one day application and its dust free. When a floor is ready for a re-coat is determined by usage. Often
times when we are called out for a re-coat the floor is at the point of needing a sand job so don’t wait to
contact us for a free inspection. We offer a re-coat assessment schedule to help you keep your floor
looking new. We use the best and safest floor finishes available, BONA Traffic. It is built to withstand
commercial usage and its durability is unrivaled.
